Technical Account Manager

Job Description

Job Title: Staff Technical Account Manager - Jülich Research. Location: Jülich, Germany

You will act as a bridge between research customers and internal teams, ensuring successful integration, deployment, & long-term collaboration in advanced quantum research.

Duties:

• Present D-Wave’s quantum computing capabilities to research partners, aligning their computational needs with potential projects.
• Translate D-Wave’s technology vision and roadmap for both executive and technical audiences.
• Deliver technical presentations at conferences, seminars, and online events;
• Support marketing activities such as hosting webinars and representing the company at industry events.
• Collaborate with research, services, and R&D teams to manage ongoing research projects and maintain customer engagement.
• Build lasting technical relationships and identify opportunities to expand D-Wave’s solutions in research and industry.
• Serve as a resource for quantum optimization, applied algorithms, and industry trends.
• Communicate client needs to internal teams and advocate for technical improvements;
• Provide reliable, clear communication and support throughout the client journey.
• Expect travel between 30% and 50% for conferences, training, and client meetings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Technical Account Manager, Solution Architect, or Presales Engineer.
• 2+ years of Python programming in an enterprise environment;
• Strong foundation in optimization, algorithms, or applied mathematics.
• Fluent in both German and English.
• Experience supporting clients in research, manufacturing, logistics, pharma, fintech, or education sectors.
• Familiarity with quantum computing or operations research is highly desirable.
• Understanding of tools such as GitHub and REST APIs;
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
