Technical Account Manager

Job Description

Job Title: Staff Technical Account Manager - US Government. Location: Remote - United States (U.S. Government customers, travel required)

In this client-facing role, you will act as a trusted advisor, helping organizations understand quantum optimization use cases and successfully deploy D-Wave’s systems and cloud services; You will collaborate across sales, product, and customer success teams to ensure long-term customer value and impact.

Duties:

  • Partner with sales and business development teams to present D-Wave solutions to government customers.
  • Translate customer challenges into meaningful quantum computing use cases.
  • Communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap to executive and technical audiences.
  • Deliver technical talks at conferences, webinars, and industry events;
  • Support marketing efforts through events, demos, and customer education sessions.
  • Lead regular technical meetings during onboarding, deployment, and expansion phases.
  • Build long-term relationships with customer teams across the full project lifecycle.
  • Identify new opportunities where D-Wave solutions can deliver measurable ROI.
  • Serve as a technical expert on quantum optimization, algorithms, and market trends.
  • Gather customer requirements and advocate for them with internal product teams;
  • Clearly explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Travel 30%–50% for client meetings, conferences, and training events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
  • Active Secret security clearance is required; Top Secret is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in a technical customer-facing role such as Technical Account Manager, Sales Engineer, or Solutions Architect.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with Python programming;
  • Proven experience supporting U.S. Government customers, including defense, civilian agencies, or intelligence communities.
  • Strong background in optimization, algorithms, or applied mathematics.
  • Experience using tools such as GitHub and REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with operations research methods is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas independently and effectively;
  • Experience in logistics, scheduling, or resource allocation projects is a plus.
  • Prior quantum computing or project management experience is beneficial but not required.
