Solutions Architect - Quantum

Job Description

Job Title: Principal, Solutions Architect – Quantum. Location: London or Cambridge, United Kingdom

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary technical leader for assigned strategic accounts and partner closely with Strategic Account Executives on planning and execution.
  • Build trusted relationships with customer technical executives, researchers, and engineering leaders.
  • Identify industry challenges in Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, or Chemicals and Materials that are suited to quantum computing solutions.
  • Lead technical discovery and shape solution design across the full customer lifecycle, from early exploration to multi-year programs.
  • Define clear project scopes aligned with internal research strengths and prepare structured technical and commercial proposals.
  • Provide structured market feedback to research leadership to ensure roadmaps align with real industry needs;
  • Maintain an updated catalogue of relevant industry use cases to support both customer engagement and internal planning.
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality technical and commercial materials for customer discussions.
  • Stay current on advances in quantum technology, industry trends, and competitive developments.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience working in industrial research programs within Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, or Chemicals and Materials.
  • Strong experience managing complex customer relationships and delivering technically advanced projects.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into technical execution strategies;
  • Executive-level communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable partnering with sales leaders while maintaining independent technical judgment.

Preferred:

  • PhD in quantum computing, physics, computer science, or related field.
  • Direct experience working with or exposure to quantum technologies.
