Job Description

Job Title: Associate Corporate Counsel, Quantum AI. Location: Mountain View, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Playa Vista, California, USA

Responsibilities:

• Provide solution-oriented legal advice to engineering, product management, operations, and business development teams from research and development through product launch and beyond;
• Advise on U.S. and international laws and regulations involving intellectual property, security, marketing, competition, privacy, and consumer protection.
• Partner with research, product, and IP counsel teams to develop and operationalize product and intellectual property strategies across the quantum hardware and software lifecycle.
• Draft, review, and discuss complex agreements covering industry and academic partnerships, supply chain and operations, and investments.
• Serve as a trusted legal partner to Quantum AI product, engineering, business, and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

• JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• Admitted to the bar and in good standing, or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state where the position is located.
• 3 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department;
• Experience advising on science and technology, product liability, privacy, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, or computer hardware and software.

Preferred:

• Undergraduate or additional degree in physical sciences or engineering, such as physics, electrical engineering, or materials science, or equivalent experience working closely with deep-tech R&D teams.
• Ability to build relationships and establish credibility with business leaders.
• Ability to work flexibly in a changing environment with limited direction.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects and a high volume of requests.
• Interest in handling legal issues related to artificial intelligence.

Benefits and Compensation:

• $217,000 to $314,000 USD annual salary.
• 20% bonus target.
