Technical Engagement Manager, U.S.

Job Description

Job Title: Technical Engagement Manager, U.S. Government Programs. Location: United States

Responsibilities:

  • Manage active U.S. government grants and research programs, ensuring successful delivery of milestones, reports, and contractual deliverables
  • Work closely with principal investigators and technical teams to keep projects on schedule and aligned with strategic objectives
  • Coordinate with hardware, software, algorithms, legal, and finance teams to develop compliant and competitive funding proposals;
  • Lead grant-writing activities, proposal development, and submission efforts for new government funding opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with government program managers, national laboratories, prime contractors, and other stakeholders;
  • Monitor the government funding landscape and identify opportunities aligned with fault-tolerant quantum computing, photonic hardware, and quantum algorithms
  • Brief leadership on emerging funding opportunities and strategic initiatives
  • Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and community events to generate partnerships and business opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in government-facing technical, research, or program management roles;
  • Experience writing, reviewing, or managing proposals for U.S. government funding programs
  • Proven success securing, managing, or delivering government-funded contracts and research programs
  • Strong understanding of government contracting, grants, compliance requirements, cost accounting, and reporting obligations;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling proposals
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree such as MSc or PhD in a relevant technical discipline
  • Familiarity with quantum computing, photonics, superconducting systems, or related deep-tech fields
  • Existing relationships with DARPA, Department of Energy, or national laboratory program managers;
  • Experience working within startups or rapidly growing technology companies
  • Understanding of U.S. science and technology policy, federal budgeting, and appropriations processes
  • Active U.S. security clearance or eligibility to obtain one
