Job Description

Job Title: AI Foundations Co-op. Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States

Job Type: Internship (Co-op, Entry Level), On-site

Responsibilities:

• Conduct cutting-edge research to improve the reliability and trustworthiness of large language models (LLMs)
• Develop methods to detect LLM hallucinations using probabilistic modeling, uncertainty estimation, verbalized uncertainty, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and related techniques;
• Design and implement approaches to reduce hallucinations through fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, architectural improvements, and other advanced methods
• Prototype, implement, and evaluate machine learning models using modern deep learning frameworks
• Design experiments, analyze results, and improve research methods based on findings
• Contribute to research publications, technical reports, and project deliverables
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers on AI and machine learning research projects

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a relevant field
• Strong knowledge of Transformer architectures and large language model training methods
• Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch;
• Solid understanding of machine learning, optimization, probabilistic modeling, and evaluation methodologies
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and experimental research skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment

Preferred:

• Research experience in large language models or related AI fields
• Publications in leading AI/ML conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, or EMNLP
• Experience training, fine-tuning, or evaluating large-scale language models
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and uncertainty estimation techniques

Benefits And Compensation:

• Salary: $800,000 to $1,100,000 per year (as listed in the job posting)
