AI Specialist - Research

Job Description

Job Title: AI Specialist - AI For Research. Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Responsibilities:

• Build automated processes and feedback loops using agentic AI systems for large-scale research tasks
• Develop reinforcement learning environments for training reasoning models
• Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and scientists to solve complex problems;
• Develop and maintain high-quality production code with testing, CI/CD, and code reviews
• Integrate AI technologies into internal R&D systems to accelerate discovery and validation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field
• 4+ years of experience in machine learning or research engineering;
• 2+ years of experience with agentic systems, reinforcement learning, or large-scale LLM systems
• Strong software engineering and programming skills, especially in Python
• Knowledge of physics and linear algebra

Preferred:

• Master’s or PhD in a relevant field
• Experience building domain-specific AI agent systems;
• Strong background in physical sciences or mathematics
• Familiarity with quantum computing concepts

Benefits and Compensation:

• Salary range: 140,000 to 190,000 CAD per year
