Job Description

Job Title: Developer Relations Manager, Quantum Computing, National Labs and Federal. Location: California, USA - Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in quantum workloads relevant to federal research, including large-scale circuit and device-level simulation, quantum error correction with real-time decoding, hybrid quantum-classical algorithm development, and QPU integration with high-performance computing systems.
  • Lead strategic collaborations with DOE national laboratories, NQIS Research Centers, NNSA sites, and federally funded quantum programs across DoD, IC, NIST, and NSF.
  • Identify high-impact technical problems that NVIDIA is well positioned to solve.
  • Partner with laboratory research teams and leadership computing facilities to integrate NVIDIA's quantum software and hardware stack, including CUDA-Q, cuQuantum, CUDA-Q QEC, and NVQLink, into production research workflows.
  • Conduct technical workshops, hackathons, and hands-on training at national laboratories, user facilities, and federal research venues;
  • Represent NVIDIA at scientific and technical conferences, including SC, APS Global Physics Summit, and IEEE Quantum Week.
  • Monitor developments in quantum simulation for materials and high-energy physics, large-scale quantum error correction, AI applied to quantum computing, and quantum digital twins.
  • Provide organized insights to NVIDIA engineering and product teams to support the CUDA-Q, CUDA-Q QEC, Ising, and NVQLink roadmaps.
  • Engage senior technical leaders, including division directors, principal investigators, chief scientists, and program managers.
  • Collaborate on architectural challenges involving QPU-GPU integration, real-time control, decoding latency, and the transition to fault tolerance.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in physics, computer science, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A PhD is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in quantum information science, including 5+ years in the quantum computing industry, a national laboratory, or a similar research institution.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in quantum algorithms, quantum error correction, or quantum hardware and control systems, with the ability to engage credibly with principal investigators.
  • Hands-on experience in scientific computing, high-performance computing, or GPU-accelerated software development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking to technical audiences;
  • Willingness to travel frequently, approximately 40%, to national laboratories, federal sites, and conferences across the United States.
  • U.S. citizenship and a security clearance are required. An active TS/SCI or DOE Q clearance is strongly preferred.

Preferred:

  • Experience working at or with a DOE national laboratory, an NQIS Research Center, or another federal institution, particularly at a leading computing facility.
  • Familiarity with federal research funding, procurement, collaboration mechanisms, and how laboratory program offices establish technical direction.
  • Experience in developer relations, technical evangelism, or solutions architecture in a research-facing role.
  • Experience with quantum control stacks, QPU calibration, or real-time systems.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Level 5 base salary: $224,000 to $356,500 per year.
  • Level 6 base salary: $272,000 to $431,250 per year.
