Job Description

Job Title: Manager, Software Architecture. Location: Santa Clara, California, USA

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of systems and networking engineers developing distributed AI communication libraries, frameworks, and system integrations.
• Define the technical roadmap in collaboration with principal engineers and architects.
• Balance short-term product delivery with long-term research and innovation initiatives.
• Build a culture of engineering excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement;
• Manage project planning, resource allocation, and delivery across multiple engineering initiatives.
• Guide software architecture decisions involving AI infrastructure, networking, and emerging quantum computing interconnect technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience in systems software, networking, or distributed systems.
• 3+ years of people management experience.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, memory hierarchies, DMA engines, and networking.
• Proficiency in C++, Rust, and Python;
• Experience planning, executing, and delivering projects in a fast-paced R&D environment.
• Excellent communication skills with experience writing technical documentation and presenting technical concepts.
• Understanding of ML systems, including transformer architectures, distributed training, model parallelism, and inference patterns.

Preferred:

• Experience with ML inference frameworks such as vLLM, SGLang, or TensorRT-LLM.
• Familiarity with hardware and software ecosystem design.
• Experience leading research-focused engineering teams using agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of high-performance communication frameworks and distributed AI infrastructure.
• Interest or experience in emerging quantum communication technologies.

Benefits And Compensation:

• Annual base salary of $184,000 to $287,500 (Level 2) or $224,000 to $356,500 (Level 3), depending on experience and level.
