Quantum Applications Scientist - Life Sciences

Job Description

Job Title: Staff Quantum Applications Scientist - Life Sciences. Location: Göteborg, Västra Götaland, Sweden (onsite or hybrid, option for Toronto, Canada)

Responsibilities:

• Lead development of hybrid quantum applications and algorithms for life sciences with real commercial impact
• Collaborate with compiler, cloud, and hardware teams to optimize workflows for trapped-ion quantum computers
• Apply knowledge of classical and quantum algorithms to evaluate performance, trade-offs, and scalability
• Work directly with clients to define and solve real-world problems using quantum computing solutions;
• Present technical concepts clearly to stakeholders and adapt communication to different audiences
• Build reusable software platforms and integrate quantum solutions into end-to-end workflows

Qualifications:

• Doctorate degree in life sciences or equivalent experience
• At least 3 years of experience in computational and AI/ML tools in bioinformatics, molecular biology, or therapeutics
• At least 3 years of experience developing and applying quantum algorithms in life sciences;
• Hands-on experience with Python and quantum SDKs such as Qiskit, PennyLane, or Cirq
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with global teams and clients

Preferred:

• Strong foundation in linear algebra, probability, computational complexity, and related mathematical methods
• Experience working directly with clients to deliver technical solutions;
• Proven collaboration and problem-solving skills
