Job Description
Job Title: Senior Quantum Computing Libraries Engineer. Location: Santa Clara, California, USA
Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and maintain GPU-accelerated quantum computing libraries across multiple hardware generations
- Design high-performance HPC algorithms for large-scale quantum circuit simulations
- Analyze GPU, CPU, multi-GPU, and multi-node performance to improve algorithm efficiency;
- Collaborate with research, developer technology, and product management teams on quantum computing and machine learning projects
- Work with external researchers and partners to understand technical requirements and use cases
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
- Improve software performance through algorithmic and implementation-based optimizations
Qualifications:
- PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python
- Experience with GPU programming, multithreading, MPI, and hardware-aware optimization;
- Experience developing scientific software for quantum simulations, circuit simulators, compilers, or hybrid quantum-classical computing
- Strong communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills
- Experience using agentic coding tools
Preferred:
- Experience with quantum computing frameworks such as Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, or similar platforms
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Strong knowledge of HPC technologies and communication algorithms
- Experience with numerical methods, Hamiltonian integrals, and quantum simulation techniques
- Experience working in Agile software development environments with globally distributed teams
Benefits And Compensation:
- Annual base salary of $184,000 to $287,500 (Level 4) or $224,000 to $356,500 (Level 5)
