Job Description
Job Title: Quantum Computing Software Intern - Summer 2026. Location: Santa Clara, CA, USA
This role focuses on building and optimizing software that enables researchers to solve larger quantum problems faster using GPU-accelerated systems.
Duties:
- Support software engineering tasks related to proof-of-concept development for quantum algorithms.
- Collaborate with engineers and researchers to understand quantum software use cases and requirements.
- Help convert research ideas into usable features through design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Analyze performance of CPU and GPU implementations and identify optimization opportunities;
- Assist in improving algorithm efficiency and implementation quality.
- Present technical results and progress throughout the internship period.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- Experience with quantum algorithms, programming systems, or hybrid quantum–classical algorithms.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python;
- Solid understanding of algorithms, numerical methods, and linear algebra.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate technical ideas clearly.
