Quantum Research Scientist Intern

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Research Scientist Intern - Fall 2026. Location: Remote, California, USA

Responsibilities:

• Develop agentic AI systems for quantum computing applications
• Prototype high-performance AI-driven pipelines for quantum electronic design automation (EDA) involving superconducting qubits
• Collect, organize, and curate data to support digital twin development and NVIDIA Ising model workflows
• Accelerate and deploy quantum calibration techniques and workflows;
• Combine electromagnetic and quantum simulations to extract device parameters and construct accurate Hamiltonian models
• Support the development of tools for quantum hardware design, measurement, calibration, and optimization

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Strong understanding of quantum computing fundamentals and at least one qubit modality
• Familiarity with standard design software or ability to learn quickly;
• Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS, Palace, or similar solvers
• Strong teamwork, communication, and technical documentation skills

Preferred:

• Experience designing, simulating, calibrating, or operating quantum hardware systems
• Experience with superconducting qubits, ion traps, neutral atoms, or other quantum computing platforms
• Experience building AI agents, LLM-powered workflows, or scientific automation systems
• Experience using cuQuantum, CUDA-Q, or other NVIDIA quantum software tools
• Familiarity with classical machine learning techniques
• Publications in leading quantum computing or applied physics journals and conferences

Salary (Annual Equivalent):

• Approximately $41,600 to $147,680 per year (based on 40 hours per week)
