Sr. Quantum Applications Scientist - Life Sciences

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Quantum Applications Scientist - Life Sciences. Location: Göteborg, Västra Götaland, Sweden or Toronto, Canada (onsite or hybrid)

Responsibilities:

• Develop hybrid quantum applications, algorithms, and solutions for life sciences with real commercial impact
• Collaborate with compiler, cloud, and hardware teams to build optimized workflows for trapped-ion quantum computers
• Evaluate and communicate trade-offs, scalability, and performance of classical and quantum methods
• Work with clients to define and solve real-world problems using quantum computing;
• Build reusable software platforms and integrate quantum solutions into end-to-end workflows

Qualifications:

• Doctorate degree in life sciences or equivalent experience
• Hands-on experience with computational and AI/ML tools in bioinformatics, molecular biology, or therapeutics
• Proven experience developing and validating quantum algorithms in life sciences;
• Strong programming experience using Python and quantum SDKs such as Qiskit, PennyLane, or Cirq
• Ability to work with global teams and customers, including travel if needed

Preferred:

• Strong foundation in linear algebra, probability, and computational complexity
• Experience working directly with clients and delivering solutions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
