Advanced ASIC Test Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Advanced ASIC Test Engineer. Location: Broomfield, CO, USA

You will work closely with engineers, physicists, and ASIC designers in a fast-paced R&D environment that supports rapid prototyping and system-scale innovation.

Duties:

• Implement, characterize, and validate ASICs aligned with Quantinuum’s quantum computer roadmap.
• Design and develop electrical interfaces and test equipment for use with cryogenic test chambers.
• Create scripts to automate test equipment operation and data analysis.
• Manage execution of cryogenic testing and lab operations;
• Convert system and customer requirements into clear, verifiable test plans.
• Support R&D and rapid prototyping efforts across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with ASIC developers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and physicists.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in an engineering or R&D environment.
• 3 or more years of experience developing test equipment and validating digital and analog circuits in a lab.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with cryogenic test chambers.
• Strong experience with Python for test automation and data analysis;
• Background in testing low-noise analog electronics and understanding EMI, EMC, and grounding effects.
• Experience with ASIC development and testing workflows.
• Knowledge of electrical challenges in quantum computers or ion-trap systems.
• Clear technical communication and well-structured design documentation skills.
• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.

• Annual base salary range: $113,000–$141,000, based on skills, education, and experience.
