Job Description

Job Title: Advanced Electrical Engineer - 538. Location: Broomfield, CO, USA

You will help translate long-term system architecture goals into practical designs through close collaboration with hardware, software, and systems teams working on a next-generation trapped-ion platform.

Duties:

• Define, document, and maintain system architecture and requirements for electrical subsystems in a trapped-ion quantum system.
• Manage system requirements, interface control documents, and engineering documentation to support rapid prototyping.
• Work closely with systems engineers, subsystem leads, and architects to derive and communicate requirements and verification plans.
• Act as a consultant to subsystem teams to ensure requirements are clear, compatible, verifiable, and complete;
• Enable fast design iterations to validate early system concepts and reduce technical risk.
• Serve as a communication hub to capture and share technical decisions across teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in electrical engineering roles.
• At least 4 years of experience with requirement-based design;
• Experience working with cross-functional teams developing and testing electronics.
• Familiarity with low-noise electronics and system-level design concepts.
• Experience using Python or similar programming languages.
• Must be a U.S. Person as defined by U.S. government requirements and meet national security restrictions.

• Annual salary range of $112,000 to $140,000, based on skills, education, and experience.
