AIT Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: AIT Engineer. Location: Delft, Netherlands

Job Type: Full-time, on-site (hybrid possible depending on team setup)

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and integrate quantum hardware prototypes following engineering drawings and procedures
  • Perform functional, electrical, and mechanical testing at subsystem and device level
  • Manage subcomponents, ensuring availability, quality, and proper documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve assembly and integration issues;
  • Maintain and service test and assembly equipment, including RF, vacuum, and cryogenic systems
  • Improve tools, jigs, fixtures, and setups to enhance efficiency and reliability
  • Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, tests, and results
  • Support automation and software-assisted testing using Python or similar tools
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and quality standards are followed;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of assembly and testing workflows

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 3–7 years of hands-on experience in prototype assembly, integration, or testing
  • Experience in DC/RF testing, instrumentation, and quality control
  • Familiarity with CAD tools for design and assembly;
  • Strong hands-on ability to modify and optimize hardware setups
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Experience with cryogenic hardware systems or vacuum environments
  • Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication or quantum device technologies
  • Experience working in cleanroom environments and following safety protocols
  • Familiarity with version-controlled documentation systems;
  • Experience with automation in test environments using Python
