Job Description

Job Title: Senior Application Developer. Location: Remote, United Kingdom

Responsibilities:

• Develop algorithms to solve complex problems and build applications on the D-Wave quantum computer and internal tools
• Implement and optimize the performance of quantum applications, primarily in Python
• Build custom applications to solve complex problems for customers or for market release
• Ensure successful delivery of projects to achieve positive business value for customers;
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and team members to understand application requirements and design customized solutions
• Become an expert in D-Wave’s professional services offerings, including the cloud service (LEAP) and open-source software tools (Ocean)
• Help solve real-world challenges that directly impact customer success

Qualifications:

• 5+ years professional experience with Python, with knowledge of NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Networkx as a plus
• Masters, PhD, or equivalent in Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related technical field preferred
• Experience working directly with customers to identify requirements and consult on solutions
• Strong knowledge of probability, statistics, and math
• Experience with version control software such as Git;
• Experience implementing complex algorithms
• Experience using leading optimization tools (e.g., CPLEX or Gurobi)
• Experience building open-source applications for customers or market release
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills;
• Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and passionate about writing state-of-the-art code
