Job Title: Deployment Physicist, Global On-premises Installation. Location:
- Singapore
- The role may also be based at another Quantinuum global office for candidates willing to travel for deployments.
Responsibilities:
- Install Helios quantum computing systems at customer premises, including shipment preparation, relocation, installation, and performance validation.
- Improve and maintain plans and work instructions for system preparation, deployment, installation, and validation.
- Serve as the team's atomic physics and qubit operations expert, owning qubit-based integration and validation tasks during deployments.
- Provide remote support and on-site service for Helios systems with support from subject matter experts and the global team.
- Participate in integration and validation of Helios systems at Quantinuum before deployment;
- Contribute to future on-premises hardware offerings after Helios, including design, execution, and deployment.
- Maintain strong focus on business success, technical progress, and professional team interactions.
- Travel domestically and internationally for up to 3 months at a time during deployments and approximately 25% of the time otherwise.
Qualifications:
- Completed Ph.D.
- Minimum 8 years of post-graduate experience, including M.S. or Ph.D. experience, as a technical contributor or leader in atomic physics or quantum computing.
- Eligibility to complete international travel.
- Candidates must not be nationals of the People's Republic of China or Russia unless they are also U.S. citizens, due to U.S. Government national security requirements.
Preferred:
- Deep knowledge of trapped-ion technology, high-performance quantum computing, and technical hardware integration and validation.
- Proven atomic physics research and development experience demonstrated through scholarly publications, successful program execution, and/or launched products.
- Experience with lasers, laser cooling, atom trapping, cryogenics, ultra-high vacuum systems, analog and digital electronics, laboratory hardware control, Python, physical modeling, and data analysis;
- Strong drive to meet or exceed performance and schedule expectations.
- Commitment to documenting work through shared notes and maintaining standard work documentation, test plans, troubleshooting guides, and configuration documentation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Other Information:
- Helios is Quantinuum's current-generation quantum computer with 98 physical qubits and more than 99.9% two-qubit fidelities.
- The first on-premises Helios system will be installed in Singapore, with additional customer locations planned;
- The role includes integration, validation, and shipment preparation activities in the United States, either in person or remotely depending on the candidate's location.
- Candidates must complete a pre-employment drug test for safety-sensitive placement.
