Electromechanical Production Assembler

Job Description

Job Title: Electromechanical Production Assembler. Location: Burnaby, Canada

You will play a key role in ensuring all assemblies meet strict product specifications and safety standards; The role involves hands-on work with precision tools and collaboration with engineering and lab teams to support production quality and innovation.

Duties:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly documentation.
• Assemble electromechanical and cable subassemblies, ensuring accurate alignment and quality fit.
• Solder SMT components on PCBs and assemble micro circuits using crimping tools and soldering equipment.
• Install, fasten, align, and adjust components and wiring harnesses in assemblies;
• Troubleshoot and report design or production issues and help improve assembly techniques.
• Maintain accurate production logs, work orders, and component inventory records;
• Follow safety standards and maintain all tools and workstations in proper condition.
• Support lab operations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary technical diploma or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience assembling complex electromechanical systems.
• Skilled in reading engineering drawings and using tools such as microscopes, multimeters, heat guns, and soldering controllers.
• Understanding of multi-level Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Experience with HVAC, valves, and pressure pipe fittings is an asset;
• Manual dexterity with the ability to handle small electronic parts;
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
