Job Description

Job Title: Senior Chief Platform Architect. Location:

Responsibilities:

  • Own the design and specifications of a high-performance developer platform for quantum computing.
  • Refine quantum computer access APIs and web portal architecture for performance, scalability, and multi-region operation.
  • Transform the web portal into an application development and delivery framework using cloud-based hybrid workflow engines and reusable quantum/classical application components.
  • Define standard interfaces for hosting application components and enabling internal and external developers to build applications.
  • Ensure platform security and reliability as the system scales.
  • Deliver customizable cloud-based hybrid applications to end users;
  • Work across the business to maintain the technology roadmap, translate business goals into technical requirements, and evaluate new technologies.
  • Establish coding best practices and conduct architectural reviews.
  • Mentor senior software engineers and promote a culture of technical excellence.

Qualifications:

  • 25+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • At least 5+ years in a senior architect or lead role, specifically within developer platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
  • Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or GCP, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipeline design, developer portals such as Backstage, and observability tools.
  • Demonstrated success designing large-scale software systems.
  • Experience leading architectural work for large-scale projects and influencing teams without direct authority.
  • Prior experience designing and architecting developer platforms.
  • Experience building platform engineering teams from the ground up.
  • Background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Publications or patents in quantum computing.
