Experimental Quantum Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Experimental Quantum Engineer. Location: Delft, Netherlands

Responsibilities:

• Own and maintain advanced cryogenic measurement setups used for quantum hardware testing
• Purchase, build, upgrade, and maintain state-of-the-art measurement systems
• Operate cryogenic quantum hardware and work directly with dilution refrigerators;
• Develop and improve Python-based measurement routines for device characterization
• Characterize quantum chips and evaluate the performance of superconducting qubits and amplifiers
• Identify root causes of hardware abnormalities and collaborate with fabrication and design teams on solutions
• Continuously improve measurement setups, software, and operational processes to support increasing product complexity and scale

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering, preferably focused on quantum computing
• Hands-on programming experience, preferably with Python;
• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to improve technical processes
• Comfortable working with both hardware systems and software tools

Preferred:

• Experience with superconducting circuits
• Experience with microwave measurement techniques;
• Experience working with cryogenic or quantum hardware systems
