Lead Cryogenic Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Lead Cryogenic Engineer. Location: Delft, Netherlands

Job Type: Full-time, on-site

Responsibilities:

• Define, build, and operate large-scale cryogenic test facilities including dilution refrigerators and supporting infrastructure
• Lead commissioning of new cryogenic systems and ensure rapid operational readiness
• Improve operational efficiency (OEE) across cryostat fleets including quality, performance, and availability
• Enhance cryogenic system performance including base temperature stability, coherence, and dephasing;
• Develop operational procedures, monitoring systems, and preventive maintenance strategies
• Support measurement campaigns in collaboration with hardware, RF, and measurement teams

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with cryogenic systems and dilution refrigerators
• Strong background in RF measurements and cryogenic RF optimization
• Experience scaling and operating complex technical infrastructure in R&D or industrial environments
• Ability to work under performance, uptime, and schedule constraints;
• Strong problem-solving mindset with focus on reliable engineering systems

Preferred:

• Experience in industrial cryogenics or quantum hardware scale-up environments
• Experience with semiconductor test systems or large experimental facilities
• Familiarity with high-throughput quantum or physics research setups
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams
