Manager, Electrical Production

Job Description

Job Title:Manager, Electrical Production. Location: Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada

You will align people, processes, and tools to meet business goals while ensuring strong execution, quality, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Lead and scale the electrical production team with a focus on quality, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Own end-to-end production execution, including scheduling, resource planning, and capacity management.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to improve efficiency, compliance, and consistency.
  • Mentor, train, and support production staff to maintain high work standards;
  • Coordinate with planners to ensure production schedules meet delivery and capacity commitments.
  • Work hands-on with electronic and electrical components and understand their technical parameters.
  • Improve production workflows, space planning, equipment layout, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage production budgets, cost analysis, KPIs, and performance reporting.
  • Support ECO implementation, inventory counts, and discrepancy investigations;
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Lab Operations on production strategy and large-scale initiatives.
  • Support ongoing improvements to ERP and MRP systems and adoption of new processes.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure equipment is properly maintained and compliant.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of electrical production experience, including 4+ years in a people leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of MRP, ERP, and multi-level BOM production planning.
  • Proven experience managing production teams with ownership of performance outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and continuous improvement practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and SolidWorks drawings;
  • Strong knowledge of soldering equipment, techniques, and processes.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make informed decisions with limited data and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.

Desired and Additional:

  • Experience with NetSuite and Fusion Lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Kanban systems and FIFO inventory management.
  • Experience with SMT and PCB population processes.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions between engineering and production teams.
  • Willingness to travel to local vendor sites when required.

Benefits and Instructions:

  • Base salary range: 132,880 to 199,320 CAD per year, based in Burnaby.
