Photolithography Equipment Engineer, Quantum

Job Description

Job Title: Photolithography Equipment Engineer, Quantum AI. Location: Goleta, California, USA

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostics, optical alignments, and repairs on steppers, mask aligners, and automated resist tracks
  • Lead evaluation and procurement of new patterning and metrology equipment for quantum device fabrication
  • Manage installation and qualification of lithography systems and drive upgrades for better accuracy and resolution
  • Support operations across facilities to ensure tool consistency and standardization;
  • Analyze performance data to improve wafer throughput, reduce chemical use, and enhance environmental stability
  • Maintain and troubleshoot high-precision optical and robotic systems used in nanofabrication

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience maintaining photolithography equipment such as steppers, scanners, or tracks
  • Experience working with photo-chemicals and laser safety protocols;
  • Experience with projection optics, precision stages, or wafer handling robotics
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment using full PPE

Preferred:

  • Experience with machining, welding, soldering, CNC tools, and fabrication methods
  • Experience with measurement tools like oscilloscopes and CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across optical, electrical, robotic, and software systems;
  • Experience with lithography tools such as SUSS coaters, mask aligners, Heidelberg laser writers, and EBL systems
  • Knowledge of managing construction or R&D infrastructure projects

Benefits And Compensation:

  • Base salary range: $120,000 to $172,000 per year
