Job Description
Job Title: Research Scientist, Applied ML, Quantum Error Correction. Location: Goleta, California, USA
Responsibilities:
- Develop automated pipelines using machine learning to discover new quantum error correction codes
- Design and optimize fault-tolerant quantum circuits for real hardware constraints
- Adapt error correction schemes to connectivity and performance limitations of quantum systems
- Simulate quantum codes under realistic noise models and evaluate their performance
- Improve encoding rate, distance, and hardware efficiency of quantum codes;
- Collaborate with internal teams and external research institutions
- Publish research findings and contribute to the global quantum research community
Qualifications:
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Experience in quantum computing or machine learning research;
- At least one scientific publication in relevant fields
Preferred:
- Experience initiating and leading research agendas
- Background in quantum computing and error correction methods
- Experience applying ML to scientific or physics-based problems
Benefits And Compensation:
- Base salary range: $147,000 to $211,000 per year
- Additional compensation includes bonus, equity, and benefits
