Senior Electronics Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Electronics Engineer. Location: Sydney, Australia

You will lead the development of ruggedized hardware prototypes and help take advanced sensing systems from the lab into real-world deployment.

Duties:

• Architect, miniaturise, and ruggedise quantum sensing prototypes for field operation and product release.
• Lead delivery of complex hardware systems with responsibility for performance, reliability, and technical quality.
• Design and review analogue and mixed-signal electronic systems;
• Support development of quantum gravimeters, accelerometers, and magnetometers.
• Collaborate closely with scientists and engineers in an R&D environment.
• Mentor and guide engineers and technicians within the hardware team.
• Support hardware validation, field trials, and product certification efforts;
• Contribute to continuous improvement of hardware development practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Physics, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong experience delivering high-quality analogue and mixed-signal designs.
• Background in RF systems and optoelectronics is desirable but not required;
• Experience taking hardware from prototype to production, including design for manufacture.
• Ability to work across research and engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
