Senior Field Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Field Engineer - Italy. Location: Milan, Italy (Remote with travel up to 40%)

Responsibilities:

• Explain quantum computing strategy, product portfolio, and applications to prospective clients
• Lead technical discussions and map quantum algorithms (QAOA, VQE, Grover’s, QFT, HHL) into real-world use cases
• Develop and execute proof-of-concept solutions with application engineering teams
• Translate client business needs into technical proposals and quantum solutions;
• Create presentations and technical sales materials to support quantum adoption
• Gather client feedback and share insights with product and engineering teams
• Support sales pipeline development and customer engagement activities;
• Conduct workshops to identify new quantum use cases and opportunities
• Represent the company at conferences and industry events

Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience in applied technology, innovation, or customer-facing technical roles
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM fields such as Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related areas
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly across audiences;
• Understanding of quantum mechanics and computing applications

Preferred:

• Master’s or PhD in STEM field related to quantum computing
• 5+ years experience in technical sales or solution engineering roles
• Hands-on experience with Qiskit, Cirq, or other quantum SDKs
• Strong proficiency in Python and Jupyter Notebooks;'
• Experience in full-stack system architecture and solution design
• Experience leading technical workshops or client-facing innovation sessions
