Job Description
Job Title: Software Engineer, Decoding, Quantum AI. Location: Los Angeles, CA, USA; Goleta, CA, USA
Responsibilities:
- Develop software systems for real-time diagnostics of errors in quantum computations caused by noise and decoherence
- Build syndrome decoders using quantum measurement data from readout electronics
- Design frameworks for performance benchmarking of real-time error diagnostics
- Integrate quantum error correction software with quantum control systems;
- Collaborate with researchers on experiments and simulations to define software requirements
- Maintain strong software engineering practices to ensure code quality and scalability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience with C++ and Python;
- Experience designing and developing complex software systems
Preferred:
- Experience in systems programming, HPC, real-time computing, or low-level optimization
- Experience with FPGA, DSP, or GPU programming;
- Knowledge of graph algorithms
- Understanding of quantum computing, quantum error correction, classical coding theory, linear algebra, or statistics
Benefits and Compensation:
- Base salary range: $147,000 to $211,000 per year
- Additional compensation includes bonus, equity, and benefits;
