Job Description
Job Title: Solutions Architect, Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences (Principal or Director Level). Location: United States (Remote)
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical lead for strategic pharmaceutical and life sciences customer accounts
- Partner with Strategic Account Executives on account planning, technical discovery, and solution development
- Identify high-value opportunities for applying quantum computing to pharmaceutical and life sciences research workflows
- Evaluate customer challenges and determine suitability for near-term quantum approaches
- Maintain a catalog of industry-relevant quantum use cases to support customer engagement and internal planning
- Develop customer-facing technical materials and project proposals;
- Define project scope in collaboration with customers and internal research teams
- Provide market insights and customer feedback to help align research roadmaps with industry needs
- Stay current on advances in quantum technologies, algorithms, limitations, and industry trends
- Build expertise in quantum applications across computational biology, computational chemistry, omics, drug discovery, advanced analytics, AI, and model-informed clinical development
- Lead and mentor the Solutions Architecture team, including coaching, performance management, and resource allocation (Director level)
- Establish technical best practices and oversee technical quality and prioritization across customer portfolios (Director level)
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computational Life Sciences, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in industrial research programs within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector
- U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, green card status, asylum status, or refugee status required;
- Must satisfy contractual and national security requirements
- Experience working with pharmaceutical R&D technologies and methodologies
- Strong customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate business objectives into technical solutions
- Experience managing multiple priorities and strategic customer relationships
Preferred:
- PhD in Life Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, or another STEM discipline
- Experience working with quantum technologies
- Experience delivering technically complex customer projects
- Experience partnering closely with sales organizations while maintaining independent technical judgment
- Executive-level communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience leading technical teams or direct reports in customer-facing or research environments
- Strong understanding of quantum algorithms and their practical applications
