AP Technical Business Development

Job Description

Job Title: AP Technical Business Development Lead. Location: Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with executive-level stakeholders and strategic business partners
• Identify opportunities to increase adoption of quantum technologies and IBM solutions;
• Lead and support negotiations for licensing agreements, technology alliances, joint development partnerships, and acquisitions
• Drive long-term business growth by expanding partner adoption and commitment to IBM technologies
• Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and external consultants to achieve business objectives
• Develop and execute strategic plans to support partner success and technology adoption

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; Doctorate preferred
• Proven experience managing strategic technology partnerships and business development initiatives
• Strong understanding of multiple industries, market trends, competitor landscape, and emerging technologies
• Experience negotiating complex business agreements and structuring long-term partnerships;
• Ability to build trusted relationships with executive-level decision-makers
• Strong strategic planning, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred:

• Experience with licensing agreements, joint development partnerships, and acquisitions
• Strong background in technology implementation and integration
• Experience in financial analysis, market analysis, acquisition due diligence, and acquisition integration
• Knowledge of AI, hybrid cloud, and quantum computing technologies is an advantage
