Applied Scientist Intern

Job Description

Job Title: 2026 Applied Scientist Intern, Amazon University Talent Acquisition. Location: Multiple locations across the EMEA region including Spain, Germany, France, UK, Italy, Netherlands, Ireland, UAE, and others

This internship allows students to invent and deploy real-world systems while working closely with Amazon scientists in a fast-moving research and production environment.

Duties:

• Design and develop end-to-end scientific and engineering systems.
• Create new algorithms, models, and technical solutions for complex problems.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and other interns across teams;
• Write technical white papers, research documents, and project roadmaps.
• Deploy research solutions into production-level systems.
• Apply scientific thinking to solve real business and customer problems.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, or a related field.
• Experience programming in Python, Java, C++, or similar languages.
• Strong interest in applied research areas such as AI, optimization, or quantum-related computing.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate technical ideas clearly;
• Research publications, experimental design experience, and statistical analysis skills are preferred.
