Job Description

Job Title: 2026 Applied Scientist Intern, Amazon University Talent Acquisition. Location: Multiple EMEA locations (Austria, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, South Africa, UAE, UK)

Job Type:
Internship (3–6 months, full-time, on-site). You will work with scientists, engineers, and other interns across Amazon Science teams, gaining hands-on research experience while contributing to real-world systems.

Duties:

  • Design and develop end-to-end systems that support scientific and production use cases.
  • Work with scientists and engineers to build, test, and deploy models and algorithms.
  • Write technical white papers and research documents when needed;
  • Support production projects by creating roadmaps and contributing to system improvements.
  • Experiment with new ideas and explore scientific problems across domains such as machine learning, optimization, robotics, and quantum computing.
  • Collaborate with diverse and cross-functional teams to solve complex problems.;
  • Participate in Amazon’s customer-focused culture and contribute to research that may influence future products and technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages;
  • Ability to design experiments, analyze results, and develop algorithms using toolkits or custom code.
  • Experience with machine learning, data mining, or statistical methods is preferred.
  • Publications at peer-reviewed conferences or journals is a plus.
