Job Description
Job Title: Facilities Engineering Intern - 1000. Location: Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, USA
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering support for facility infrastructure, HVAC, building automation, mechanical systems, utilities, and cryogenic production equipment
- Evaluate system performance and identify capacity, reliability, and operational risks
- Develop technical recommendations for repairs, upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle planning
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for equipment failures, recurring alarms, process interruptions, and other system-level issues
- Implement corrective and preventive actions;
- Design and plan facility and utility projects from concept through commissioning
- Develop project scopes, participate in design reviews, prepare cost estimates and schedules, coordinate contractors, support acceptance testing, and complete turnover documentation
- Review engineering drawings, equipment submittals, technical specifications, operating procedures, and vendor proposals for safety, quality, operability, maintainability, and compliance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program
- Graduating on or after 2027
- Must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, or worker granted asylum or refugee status
- Due to U.S. government national security requirements, candidates must not be nationals of the People's Republic of China or Russia unless they are also U.S. citizens
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field
- Previous experience leading technical work, coordinating teams, or supervising employees or contractors
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation, and environmental monitoring systems
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, engineering drawings, and equipment documentation
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills;
- Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices and computerized maintenance management systems
- Effective communication, collaboration, and team leadership skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and tools used for reporting, analysis, and project tracking

- $23 to $27 per hour
- Housing stipend of $500 per bi-weekly paycheck for candidates located outside Minnesota
