IT Support Specialist

Job Description

Job Title: IT Support Specialist. Location: Toronto, ON, Canada

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving in a fast-paced, innovative environment and wants to support a team building quantum computing technologies that could change the world.

Duties:

• Act as the first point of contact for IT support requests.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues to provide timely solutions.
• Set up and configure laptops, desktops, monitors, keyboards, docking stations, and other peripherals.
• Assist with user onboarding and offboarding, including account creation and hardware setup.
• Support audio/visual setups for meetings and presentations;
• Maintain and update IT documentation for routine tasks and procedures.
• Perform software and hardware moves, adds, and changes.
• Administer and maintain user accounts and permissions;
• Install, test, and support new application releases, bug fixes, and enhancements.
• Help manage hardware inventory and conduct routine audits.
• Monitor alerts or minor incidents and escalate issues as needed;
• Participate in occasional weekend or off-hour IT activities as required.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 1–5 years of experience in a related IT role;
• Proficiency with Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
• Familiarity with basic networking and cybersecurity principles.
• Detail-oriented and able to perform under high-pressure conditions.
• Experience in an agile delivery environment;
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and weekend IT activities;
• Knowledge of Python or Bash for automation and troubleshooting is preferred.
• Experience working in startup environments is an advantage.
