Senior Application Developer

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Application Developer. Location: Remote, United States

You will work closely with customers and internal teams to build, optimize, and launch applications that create clear business value using advanced optimization and quantum technologies.

Duties:

• Develop algorithms and applications that run on D-Wave’s quantum computers and internal platforms.
• Build and optimize quantum applications, mainly using Python.
• Create custom solutions for customer use cases and for market-ready releases.
• Ensure projects are delivered successfully and generate measurable results for customers.
• Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and design tailored solutions;
• Become a subject expert in D-Wave services such as the LEAP cloud platform and Ocean open-source tools.
• Solve complex, real-world optimization and analytics problems that directly impact customer success.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience with Python.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, probability, statistics, and mathematical modeling.
• Experience implementing complex algorithms and optimization solutions.
• Familiarity with tools such as CPLEX or Gurobi for optimization problems.
• Experience using Git or other version control systems;
• Background in customer-facing roles, including solution design and technical consulting.
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.

• Salary range: $124,000–$186,000 USD per year.
• Remote role based in the United States.
