Software Specialist, Support

Job Description

Job Title: Software Specialist, Support II (Intermediate). Location: Remote, United States

You will act as a trusted contact for users, helping them build and run quantum applications while working closely with internal science and development teams; No prior quantum experience is required, as full training is provided.

Duties:

• Learn and support D-Wave’s software tools used by customers at different skill levels.
• Respond to, troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve customer support requests in collaboration with internal teams.
• Assist users with application development, system behavior, and platform usage.
• Manage customer accounts and ensure correct access and configuration;
• Create and maintain internal documentation and customer-facing knowledge resources.
• Support cross-team projects to improve tools, workflows, and support processes.
• Work flexible hours during high-demand periods when needed.
• Participate in an on-call rotation after completing training to handle urgent issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, science, math, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in software support, technical operations, or application support roles.
• Strong interest in technology, problem solving, and learning new systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience improving technical processes or support workflows;
• Intermediate programming skills, especially in Python, with ability to read and debug code.
• Ability to pass background checks and work with secure systems.
• Availability to support customers across North American time zones.
• Willingness to travel to the Burnaby, BC office at least twice per year, with occasional U.S. travel.

• Base salary range: $90,880–$136,320 USD per year, depending on experience and role level.
