Quantum AI Developer Intern

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum AI Developer Intern. Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

This role is ideal for students passionate about quantum computing, AI, and gaming system innovation; You will work with IBM’s consulting and technology teams to design intelligent systems that blend AI, reinforcement learning, and quantum principles to create adaptive and scalable solutions.

Duties:

• Develop and train neural network models for NPC behavior and adaptive gameplay.
• Use reinforcement learning (RL) techniques to build intelligent NPCs that adjust dynamically to player actions.
• Experiment with AI and GenAI platforms to generate dialogue and procedural storytelling;
• Build and optimize game environments in Unity and Unreal Engine using deep learning-based physics simulations.
• Prototype quantum-inspired AI algorithms for cryptography, randomness, and simulation applications.
• Integrate large language models (LLMs) and neural agents into multiplayer gaming systems;
• Prepare research documentation covering algorithms, architectures, and workflow designs.

Qualifications:

• Enrolled full-time in a post-secondary program and returning to studies after internship.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred;
• Strong understanding of neural networks, reinforcement learning, and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience with quantum computing frameworks such as IBM Qiskit, Google Cirq, or Xanadu PennyLane.
• Familiarity with AI/GenAI platforms such as OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, or Azure OpenAI.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or Rust for simulation and AI model development;
• Experience with Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar gaming systems.
• Working knowledge of version control tools like Git and Docker-based development environments.
