Job Description
Job Title: Quantum Architecture Scientist - Fault Tolerance & Quantum Error Correction. Location: Toronto, ON, Canada
As part of Xanadu’s mission to make quantum computers useful and accessible, you will help build systems capable of solving some of the world’s toughest computational challenges.
Duties:
- Investigate and design methods for fault-tolerant logical magic state preparation and gate operations.
- Develop and evaluate quantum error correction (QEC) codes and related architectures;
- Create theoretical frameworks and simulation tools to model logical architectures.
- Provide theoretical support for experimental demonstrations and research initiatives;
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team to improve architecture design and testing.
- Contribute to internal research publications and external collaborations.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on fault-tolerant quantum computing.
- Proven record of peer-reviewed research or patents in quantum architecture or error correction.
- Familiarity with scientific programming for simulation and modeling;
- Experience designing or tailoring quantum error-correcting codes.
- Knowledge of non-Clifford gate protocols and logical state preparation;
- Understanding of measurement-based quantum computation and bosonic encodings such as GKP codes.
- Experience in research roles, either in academia or industry, is preferred.
- Willingness to relocate to Toronto, Canada.
