Job Description

Job Title: Quantum EDA Junior Developer. Location: Yorktown Heights, New York, United States

The team focuses on creating and improving quantum processor and module designs to support IBM’s superconducting quantum technology; This role supports the internal electronic design automation (EDA) ecosystem that drives the company’s quantum processor development.

Duties:

• Build and maintain user-friendly software tools for quantum computing hardware design.
• Develop new EDA features and ensure tool reliability through software best practices.
• Provide active support and debugging help to internal users;
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across hardware and software development;
• Work on quantum processor design tools that directly support IBM’s quantum roadmap.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or a related field.
• Experience with Python, Linux systems, software engineering, and version control (git).
• Familiarity with circuit design concepts or quantum hardware is helpful but not required.
• Preferred experience with Tcl, C++, Rust, and CI/CD pipeline development;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse technical teams.
