Job Description
Job Title: Quantum EDA Junior Developer. Location: Yorktown Heights, New York, United States
The team focuses on creating and improving quantum processor and module designs to support IBM’s superconducting quantum technology; This role supports the internal electronic design automation (EDA) ecosystem that drives the company’s quantum processor development.
Duties:
- Build and maintain user-friendly software tools for quantum computing hardware design.
- Develop new EDA features and ensure tool reliability through software best practices.
- Provide active support and debugging help to internal users;
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across hardware and software development;
- Work on quantum processor design tools that directly support IBM’s quantum roadmap.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience with Python, Linux systems, software engineering, and version control (git).
- Familiarity with circuit design concepts or quantum hardware is helpful but not required.
- Preferred experience with Tcl, C++, Rust, and CI/CD pipeline development;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse technical teams.
