Research Scientist Internship

Job Description

Job Title: 2026 Research Scientist Internship, Amazon University Talent Acquisition. Job Location: London, GBR (Internship available across multiple EMEA locations)

This internship allows students to design, develop, and implement research projects while collaborating with experienced scientists and engineers to build solutions for complex, previously unsolved problems.

Duties:

• Work closely with scientists and engineering teams to contribute to research projects.
• Participate in interdisciplinary teams focused on customer-driven research.
• Design new algorithms, models, or technical solutions in line with research objectives;
• Explore data, conduct analysis, and implement experiments using programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Gain hands-on experience in quantum machine learning applications, optimization, or computer vision tasks depending on team assignment.
• Contribute to potential publications in top-tier conferences;
• Participate in Amazon Science events and initiatives to expand professional networks.

Qualifications:

• Enrollment in a Master’s or PhD program in computer science, machine learning, engineering, or related fields.
• Experience with programming languages, especially Python.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts, algorithms, or frameworks.
• Preferred: knowledge of computer vision, NLP, or operations research;
• Preferred: experience in data exploration and visualization using Pandas, Matplotlib, or Tableau.
