AI Research Scientist, Agentic AI

Job Description

Job Title: Senior AI Research Scientist, Agentic AI for Science. Location: US, CA, Santa Clara

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research at the frontier of Agentic AI for science.
• Study agent efficiency, reliability, scalability, and effective tool usage.
• Develop methods to integrate intelligent agents with real scientific experiments.
• Build and improve an agentic AI framework integrated with NVIDIA tools;
• Collaborate closely with domain scientists, software engineers, and external partners including Eli Lilly and Company.
• Apply AI systems to solve complex science problems in areas such as quantum information and chemistry.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in AI research.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, architecture principles, and distributed systems.
• Experience with AI for science tools and intelligent agent systems.
• Proficiency in Python programming;
• Experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to build high-quality and resilient systems.
• Excellent communication skills and strong ownership mindset.

Preferred:

• Experience with agentic frameworks.
• Background in AI applications for scientific research.

Benefits and Compensation:

• Base salary range: 224,000 USD to 356,500 USD, based on location and experience.
