Job Title: Senior Cloud Platform Engineer. Location: Sydney, Australia

This role sits at the core of Q-CTRL’s infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance while supporting products that improve quantum hardware performance worldwide; You will work closely with engineering, research, and product teams to make quantum technology reliable and useful at scale.

Duties:

• Build, operate, and improve a Kubernetes-based cloud platform supporting quantum and GPU workloads.
• Optimize end-to-end workflows across development, testing, deployment, and maintenance using code-driven practices.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing environments, vulnerability scanning, and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and cloud-agnostic operation across public and private infrastructure;
• Apply modern DevOps practices and continuously improve platform architecture and engineering standards.
• Collaborate across teams to review application code, improve system design, and share platform best practices.
• Stay current with cloud, Kubernetes, and infrastructure trends through continuous learning.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related role.
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes, including cluster design and operations.
• Deep knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Experience working with Linux systems and troubleshooting production issues;
• Proficiency in software development, with hands-on experience in Python and the ability to understand complex codebases.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain complex systems to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience improving systems proactively with a focus on quality and long-term reliability.
