Cloud Platform Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Cloud Platform Engineer. Location: Sydney, Australia

You will work with modern cloud environments, optimize development workflows, & ensure the platform supports quantum modeling and GPU-accelerated workloads.

Duties:

• Manage and improve the Q-CTRL Platform, a Kubernetes-based infrastructure that hosts multiple workloads across different public and private clouds.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment systems, and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and cloud compatibility across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments;
• Collaborate with development teams to improve code integration, cloud operations, and platform performance.
• Apply DevOps principles and lead improvements in software engineering practices;
• Keep up to date with new cloud technologies and industry best practices.
• Support continuous learning and innovation within the platform team.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments;
• Working knowledge of major public cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong programming skills, preferably in Python or Go;
• Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD pipeline management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred:

• Certifications in Kubernetes (CKA, CKAD, or CKS).
• Cloud certifications such as AWS SAA/SAP or GCP ACE/PCA.
• Experience with GitOps tools like Argo CD or Flux CD;
• Knowledge of CNCF projects and related open-source technologies.
