IT Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: IT Infrastructure Engineer. Location: Oxford, England, United Kingdom

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain IT systems and network infrastructure to ensure seamless operations for quantum technology.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across various systems and hardware;
• Administer user accounts, permissions, and policies on platforms like Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
• Set up and maintain user devices and hardware such as network switches, firewalls, and servers.
• Monitor network services including VPN connectivity, routing, and VLANs, ensuring compliance with security policies.
• Configure security settings, manage backups proactively, and repair or replace infrastructure equipment to maintain optimal performance.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with IT systems and tools, including Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
• Experience with VMware, Veeam Backup & Replication, and PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with Linux systems (Ubuntu, Rocky) and hardware such as Dell PowerEdge Servers;
• Strong problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate effectively with team members.

Preferred:

• Proactive in managing IT infrastructure for a technology-driven organization.
