Manager, Quantum System Performance

Job Description

Job Title: Manager, Quantum System Performance. Location: British Columbia, Canada

Responsibilities:

• Manage the Quantum System Performance team, providing people and technical leadership and promoting a high-performance environment
• Ensure engineers manage work through breakdowns and resource estimation
• Allocate resources effectively across projects and teams
• Improve processes and methods within the team
• Attract, develop, motivate, and retain top talent;
• Coach the team to master the design-build-test cycle for modeling and system performance
• Manage the quality, production, and evolution of system-level requirements
• Own the system performance scorecard and risk register, and create and execute improvement plans
• Work with Program Managers and Director, Quantum Processors to drive alignment across teams and meet roadmap deliverables
• Support Photonic’s Intellectual Property strategy

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of people leadership in Engineering/R&D in complex technology companies
• Advanced degree (MSc/MEng or PhD) in Engineering, Physics, or related subject
• Demonstrated ability to lead generation and management of requirements and drive system performance
• Experience translating R&D results into actionable engineering practice;
• Background or interest in quantum computing, quantum optics, or spin physics is a plus
• Proven ability to attract, inspire, motivate, and retain top-tier diverse talent
• Outstanding teamwork, interpersonal, and written communication skills

Benefits and Compensation:

• Base annual salary CAD $161,900 to $222,600
