Technical Lead, Government Programs

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Technical Lead, Government Programs. Location: British Columbia, Canada

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary interface between engineering teams and government program offices
  • Translate quantum R&D progress into contract-compliant technical deliverables
  • Manage stakeholder expectations across technical teams, executives, and government customers
  • Define KPIs and benchmarking methods aligned with government evaluation criteria;
  • Communicate program status, risks, and milestone delivery updates to leadership
  • Coordinate product roadmap execution across hardware, software, and system engineering teams
  • Support government contract execution, reporting cycles, and compliance requirements

Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of quantum computing systems, including qubits, error correction, and control hardware
  • Experience evaluating technical claims, benchmarks, and system performance trade-offs
  • Experience working with government contracts in Canada or the US;
  • Familiarity with milestone-based funding, reporting structures, and program reviews
  • Ability to operate in high-accountability, fast-moving technical environments

Preferred:

  • Experience working across full-stack quantum systems (hardware + software integration)
  • Background in spin qubit systems, cryogenic environments, or quantum networking concepts
  • Experience presenting technical progress to executives or government stakeholders;
  • Ability to translate complex quantum engineering into accessible program-level language
  • Strong experience in cross-functional leadership without direct authority
