Senior Technical Program Manager

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Technical Program Manager. Location: London, UK / Cambridge, UK

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact for project status, delivery commitments, and customer program communication
  • Ensure all research and delivery projects have clearly defined objectives, milestones, ownership, governance, and success criteria
  • Track project progress and provide consistent reporting to senior leadership
  • Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges;
  • Support forecasting and capacity planning through accurate estimates and risk assessments
  • Use project tracking and resource management tools to maintain accurate reporting and workflow visibility
  • Coordinate with finance and operations teams to track project costs, effort, and resource allocation
  • Enforce scope management and change-control processes to maintain delivery discipline;
  • Collaborate with research leads, solutions architects, and commercial teams to improve program execution

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in quantum computing, physics, computer science, or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience managing complex research programs with successful outcomes
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills;
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across technical teams

Preferred:

  • PhD in quantum computing, physics, computer science, or related field
  • Experience working with or exposure to quantum technologies;
  • Experience managing customer relationships and delivering complex technical projects
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively
  • Experience supporting large-scale research operations and cross-functional collaboration
