Principal Quantum Error Correction Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Senior / Principal Quantum Error Correction Engineer. Location: Copenhagen, Capital Region, Denmark

Job Type: Full-Time, hybrid (3 days in-office)

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop infrastructure to evaluate fault-tolerance strategies for quantum computing systems in collaboration with theorists and experimentalists
• Advance implementation of quantum error correction codes, supporting development of logical qubits and physical qubit architectures
• Work on scalable quantum computing systems aimed at improving real-world performance and stability;
• Solve complex engineering challenges in quantum system design through cross-functional collaboration
• Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and teamwork

Qualifications:

• PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or related field with strong industry experience
• Proven experience in quantum error correction and quantum fault-tolerance research or development
• Hands-on experience with modeling and analyzing circuit-level noise in quantum circuits;
• Experience in developing commercial software, scientific computing applications, or multi-component systems
• Ability to work in a research-driven engineering environment

Preferred:

• Experience with HPC and computational physics problems
• Strong programming skills in Python, Julia, C++, Rust, or similar languages
• Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail;
• Ability to apply AI tools for engineering acceleration and performance modeling
