Job Description
Job Title: Quantum Device Design Engineer, Quantum AI. Location: Goleta, CA, USA; Mountain View, CA, USA
You will work closely with experts in electrical engineering, physics, and design automation to advance error-corrected quantum computing & help shape the next generation of Google’s hardware.
Duties:
- Design and prototype quantum processors and supporting devices using internal design tools.
- Develop CAD layouts for quantum and classical components;
- Perform electromagnetic and finite element simulations to analyze circuit performance.
- Collaborate with fabrication, packaging, and testing teams to meet design objectives.
- Help automate and standardize design-fabrication-test workflows;
- Manage integration of design metadata across different software tools.
- Adapt to new research requirements in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Python or similar programming languages.
- Proficiency in git or version control tools;
- Knowledge of electromagnetic or finite element simulation software such as Sonnet, HFSS, or Comsol.
- Familiarity with IC fabrication processes and superconducting circuit architectures;
- Master’s or PhD in a relevant field preferred.
Benefits and Instructions:
- Base salary range: $126,000–$181,000 annually, plus bonus, equity, and full benefits.
- Final pay depends on education, experience, and location;
