Quantum Error Correction Research Scientist

Job Description

Job Title: Principal Quantum Error Correction Research Scientist, Applied Research. Location: Redmond, Washington - CA, Santa Clara, USA

Responsibilities:

• Path-find technical innovations in Quantum Error Correction and Fault Tolerance, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Applied Research teams
• Develop novel approaches to quantum error correction codes and their logical operations, including implementation and logical operation synthesis
• Research and co-design improved methods for achieving fault tolerance, including techniques like concatenation, distillation, or cultivation;
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop technology components for a fault-tolerant software stack integrated with quantum hardware
• Adopt a culture of collaboration, rapid innovation, technical depth, and creative problem solving

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, or related engineering field, or equivalent experience (Ph.D. preferred)
• Extensive background in Quantum Information Science with 12+ years in the Quantum Computing industry;
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-impact value in quantum error correction and fault tolerance

Preferred:

• Hands-on experience in scientific computing, high-performance computing, applied machine learning, or deep learning
• Experience with co-design of quantum error correction with quantum hardware or quantum applications
• Experience with CUDA and NVIDIA GPUs
• Passion for driving technology innovations into NVIDIA software and hardware products supporting Quantum Computing

Benefits and Compensation:

• Base salary range: 272,000 USD – 431,250 USD (determined by location and experience)
• Eligibility for equity and benefits
